Women football has huge potentials- Abu Imoro

The Northern Regional Chairman of the Ghana Football Association, Alhassan Abdulai has emphasized for more concentration on women football, saying that, the women football has huge potentials.

According to him, empowering women through the game of soccer will not only create jobs but will also enhance healthy living and lifestyle among young women in the Country.

Mr. Alhassan Abdulai known as Abu Imoro was speaking at this year’s Unity Games for women football  held at Kunbungu in the Tamale Metropolis of the Northern Region.

The game brought together various women football teams within the region to compete for coveted award.

The games was aimed at promoting women football in the region.

Mr. Abdulai said many young women through the development of sports have been adopted and recruited into many security services including the army, police, ceps and immigration.

The Northern Regional Football Association Chairman therefore called on cooperate institutions to support the development of sports in the region.

The Technical Director of TUFA Mr. Baba Nuhu Malam on behalf of TUFA donated some cash and other materials to support the Unity Games.

According to him, the donations forms part of the Academy’s social projects to empower women in the Northern Region.

He added that, TUFA will continue to support football development among the youth and promise to host the next edition of the Unity Games.

He indicated that Sports has enormous power to generate real social, economic and environmental changes and contribute to sustainable development and social cohesion.

Mr. Nuhu Malam advised the women footballers to have positive attitude towards sports but urged them to take education serious as well.

The TUFA Technical Director thanked organizers of the event for their efforts in fostering unity among the various Women teams in the Region.
