The Member of Parliament for the Tolon constituency in the Northern Region, Hon Wahab Suhuyini Wumbei together with the District Chief Executive for Tolon, Hon Hajia Yakubu Balkisu have commissioned two rural electrification projects in Woribogu Kamo Naayili and Woribogu Nangbahu communities.
The project is part of the rural electrification projects by the Government of Ghana to connect communities into the national grid.
The extension of the electricity to the communities started on March 2018 under the NEVRED project and contracted by the Hunan Construction Engineering Group Ltd with supervision from the VRA.
Last year, 12 communities in the Tolon District received electricity for the first time under the project. The communities include Tolon Sabeg, Tolon Chashogu, Fihini, Kpalgun, Zaguma, Gbanjong, Kuglog, Nlalayili, Nagbeligu, Daboashee, Yobziri and Vowagiri.
The MP for Tolon Hon Wahab Suhuyini Wumbei addressing the excited communities said, many communities will soon join the national grip and urged the people to be patient as the government under Nana Addo is poised to bring the needed development to every corner of the constituency.
Hon Wumbei who is seeking re-election in an upcoming NPP parliamentary primaries urged the people especially woman to take advantage of the electricity to venture into economic activities.
The beneficiary communities amidst dancing and sheers thanked the government Ghana, especially the MP and DCE for the championing their cause.

“Our women will now engage in various economic ventures because of this electricity, we grateful indeed”. He added
