Street library is an initiative of SEDARVP – Ghana. In other to promote reading and education in general in the northern region. The SEDARVP – Ghana in collaboration with the Youth Action Denmark teem (Ecopro) and the support of the Hon. member of parliament for Tamale – North Constituency, Alhaji Alhassan Suhuyini.
The street library is to help inculcate more knowledge in the pupilsof the northern region. In the address of Hon. Alhaji Alhassan Suhuyini at the launch of the programme at Bishop Primary and JHS in Tamale, advised the pupils to take their studies seriously by reading more than they play. He stated that education is the only thing that grants the poor child a level platform with the rich child in life.
The president and founder of SEDARVP – Ghana, Mr. Abukari Shaibu, in his speech at the street library launch on 20/01/2018 at the Bishops School campus, states that, the inauguration of the street library is indeed a milestone for the development of their community. He said it will be no doubt serve as a model of cooperation, sharing, and goodwill. He gave thanks to the hard work and continues support of his dedicated team members in conjunction with the invaluable support and foresight of the Youth Action Denmark teem ( Ecopro).
Mr. Abukari Shaibu, again States that, it is an evident that education is one of the main and most important keys to give the youth the chance to play an active role as the protagonist who will shape our future. And that is true everywhere. He continued by saying that, in different ways, our youth need so much quality education and guidance particularly in such an increasingly deceiving technological scenario.
He also said that the street library project offers a rare opportunity in this special part of the world, so rich already of its own traditions and culture, to give voice to the voiceless who never would have had this chance otherwise.
He concluded by saying a very great thank you to all stakeholders involve, most especially to the Hon. member of parliament, Alhaji Alhassan Suhuyini.
