The Senior Minister at the Gbewaa Palace, said President Akufo-Addo ‘Ghana Beyond Aid’ vision seeks to create a nation that would be self-sufficient and depends on its own natural resources for the development of the country.

Mr. Yaw Osafo-Marfo indicated that, the country is bound and blessed with many resources that can bring enormous transformational change and development for Ghanaians if harnessed.  “The president of the republic of Ghana has come out with a vision called Ghana beyond Aid, this vision seeks to call on all Ghanaians to have a change of mind, a change of attitude to develop this nation, as a prime objective of every single Ghanaian, Ghana has been blessed with many resources, we have gold, diamond iron, bauxite, your majesty within your kingdom you have iron which happens to be the biggest deposit in west Africa, with all this resources, the rate of development in Ghana is very slow and therefore, the vision of Ghana beyond aid is for us to look into ourselves and put all forces together to develop our nation, not base on political parties, but base on nationalism”.

The Senior Minister said, President Akufo-Addo has established a committee to solicit ideas from chiefs, the clergy and the public on how to achieve his vision.

He said the committee will be in the northern region for three days to canvass support for the vision, adding that the committee has since meet several interest groups including the council of state and national house of chiefs.

Your majesty since we are going to work in your kingdom, we are here to obtain your permission and your blessing to work within your kingdom. Your majesty this is our mission. Your majesty we are most grateful for the warm welcome you accorded us since we arrive and may Allah bless you”. He said

The Yoo Naa however, lamented about the inability of Ghanaians to harness the rich natural endowment to propel development.

“Look at the time we took our independent, we are still at one place, we are not moving, we are not moving backwards and we are not moving forward and the reason is just resources, that is the problem. If you look at Ghana where do we mobilize our resources, how many of us pay tax, yet we want water, we want electricity, we want good roads, we want good road, is a big challenge. So I am happy to hear from the Senior Minister’s own month that there are natural resources that need to be tapped, and that what some of us were thinking, because we sitting on this resources, and still cry of poverty. I think the solution to our problem is what the President has brought, the Ghana  beyond Aid”. The Yoo Naa stated
