The constituency women organizers and the various women groups in Tamale and the region are extremely not happy about the way they are being treated as far as the allocation of the School Feeding Program is concern, I will say that the regional secretariat of the NPP is solidly behind the women organizers and the other women groups to take over fully, charge of the Ghana School Feeding Program in the region and I can assure you that, I will lead a forceful group to protest and to defend the interest of these women groups in the region. We have suffered with the women groups and so far nothing has been given to the women, only three or four women have been made DCEs in the northern region and we think that, we should use the School Feeding Program in this region and the country at large to satisfy the interest of the women. We must compensate them with real packages and I think that Ghana School Feeding Program is one” he affirmed.

According to Madam Florence, “the worse part of our case is the Minister for Gender and Social Protection, Madam Otiko Afisa Djaba’s decision to advertise vacancies such as catering service providers, zonal co-coordinators etc without the President appointing his team to mWe the affairs of the School Feeding Program”. “Adding this has caused a lot of worried among the various women groups in the NPP. We see this action by the Minister as a calculated attempt to deny majority of our women an opportunity to be recruited into the program since no single party leader was consulted before advertising those vacancies. Her action is disrespectful to party members and leadership and we call for immediate attention on that”.
The spokesperson alleged the Gender Minister has persistently disregarded the party structures and has since refused to answer their phone calls.
