Northern Region NPP communication outfit led by Mr Sule Salifu has hinted of plans to restructure the communication directorate in the Region all in an effort to reposition the party as Ghana moves into election 2020.
In an interaction with his Communication team, the Director of Communications announced some initiatives.
According to Mr Sule Salifu, certain innovative strategies were necessary for effective communication of the NPP’s achievements, programs and policies. He outlined among others accreditation for the media to be used in NPP programs in the region.
This way, invited media personnel would be identified easily and accordingly supported. This, it is hoped will reduce any confrontation between the party, the media and the security agencies in any assemblage of the party.
Again, the directorate is giving party communicators especially in-studio communicators accreditation to help eliminate unrecognised party communicators as well as track the performance of members.
Media houses and the general public should therefore, deal with communicators with valid accreditation signed by the Regional Chairman and the Regional Director of Communications. All communicators shall be expected to avail their accreditation cards at any function. This will give publicity to the party as the party will be visible and afford the NPP communicators the opportunity to easily seek assistance from the general public
Mr Salifu also said, a series of trainings will be organized for party Communicators across the Northern Region to sharpen the communication competencies of members.
The Regional Minister, Hon Salifu Saeed who launched the identity cards greatly associated with the Director of Communications and praised the communication directorate for the ingenuity and vision to take communication to another level. He promised his full support to realize the implementation of such laudable initiative and others not for public consumption for strategic reasons.
The Regional Minister finally commends the communication team and the media for propagating the good work of the government and the NPP promising he will continue to support the Communication Directorate.
