The former NHIS Manager for the Tamale Metropolis and an NDC Steward, Mr. Mohammed Abdul Salam has named his newly born baby boy “Haroon” after the Tamale South MP and Minority Leader in Parliament, Hon Haruna Iddrisu.
Mr. Salam during a naming ceremony of his son on Saturday named him Haroon (Haruna) to emulate the goodwill and good traits of the Tamale South member of Parliament.
The meaning of Haroon in Islam is Chief, protector, guard and the wealth of the entire universe. Haroon (Aaron) was a name of a Prophet, a brother of Prophet Moses.
But according to Mr. Salam, he want his son become a very good citizen and knowledgeable person who will contribute towards building a just society like the Minority Leader.
He said, Mr. Haruna Iddrisu has not only inspired him but his selflessness and immense contributions to Mother Ghana especially the development of the Ghanaian youth cannot be overemphasized.
The NDC’s communicator said, Haruna Iddrisu contributions as NUGS President has helped strengthened student leadership in the county, adding that, even on political discourse, the Minority Leader have always shown maturity.
Mr. Salam said, “I’m very proud to name my son Haroon after the Minority Leader and Member of parliament for Tamale South”.
