Monday is Edul-fitr – Chief Imam

The National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu has schedule Monday 26th June to join the globe in the celebration of Edul-fitr, which the minister of interior has since declared as statuary public holiday.

In a press release, and signed by the personnel secretary to the Chief Imam, Alhaji Khuzaima Osman said in consultation with the members of the Hilal Committee and the National Council of Zango Chiefs, declare Monday 26th June as Eidul Fitr day.

He maintain that the Eidul Fitr prayers(Sala) will be held at the independence square at the usual commencement time at exactly 9:00am

Alhaji Osman stated emphatically that the vice president, Alhaji Mahamadu Bawumia will join the Muslim community at the independence square in the celebration.

The rest of the Muslims publics across the country are expected to perform the Edul-fitr prayers at the various Jubilee parks, and equally prudent places.

Edul-fitr is one of the Yuletide in Islam which marks the end of Ramadan, with it’s prayers generally offered in an open field or a large closed venue where hundreds of worshippers can be contain.

On the celebration day, Muslims wear new clothes, apply ideal perfumes, party with family and friends, share foodstuffs to the needy, attend social events whilst parents cook favourite dishes for their visitors and children.
