The Editor in-chief of the New Crusading Guide, Mr. Abdul Malik kweku Baako Jn has described the petition to impeach the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission Madam Charlotte Osei as incompetent petition file by faceless and nameless petitioners but unfortunately forward by a good lawyer.
“I read the content of the petition and it’s really incompetent, now it offers a certain deficits this business of faceless and namelessness is worrying. They are coming under article 146 of the constitution and not the whistle blowers act, so I don’t know why you want your hide name and face“.
Mr. Abdul Malik posited that, impeaching an EC boss is not joke and therefore urged the petitioners to revised their document and put their names on the petition to help the President knows that “he is not dealing with people who are hiding under the cover of anonymity.
However, the seasoned journalist noted that, the petitioners are going to be embarrass, “they are going to be grossly embarrass…you see this things are dealt with on the basis of records”.
The Editor in-chief of the New Crusading Guide who was speaking at Good Ghana morning show on Metro TV, Thursday, revealed that, there is some power rift at the EC and perhaps the latest revelations may will help to expose a lot of rot at the EC.
Some concern staff of the EC petitioned the President Akufo-Addo to remove the EC Boss, Madam Charlotte Osei for corruption.
Among a litany of accusations outlined in the petition addressed to President Akufo-Addo, the concerned staff said the EC Chairperson “single-handedly renegotiated the contract with the vendor without the involvement of the members of the Commission, not even the deputies. She then awarded the contract to the tune of $21,999,592 without going through tender contrary to the Public Procurement Act. The Chairperson then re-awarded these contracts without approval from the Commission”.
Meanwhile, the President Akufo-Addo is yet to act on the petition.
