I’m determined to marry Voltarians; I’ll keep coming until I get them – Akufo-Addo

President Nana Akufo-Addo has said he is determined to make the Volta Region and Voltarians his wife, thus turning around the fortunes of the NPP in the Volta Region.

The Volta Region is the political world bank of the NDC but Mr. Akufo-Addo reiterates that, he will continue to make “love” advances towards the Volta Region until it’s becomes the NPP stronghold.

President Nana Akufo-Addo in his recent tour to the Volta Region was responding to a widely circulated protest by the Volta Regional Communications Officer of the NDC, Mr Kafui Agbleze about  why the President and his Vice President keep frequenting the region.

Mr Akufo-Addo addressing the Chiefs and people of Adaklu said the NDC’s communicator has not seen anything yet, saying ,“I heard that the other day, the spokesperson of the National Democratic Congress in the Volta Region said that the Vice-President and myself (sic) were coming too often to the Volta Region and that we are trying to reap where we have not sown….I think that the spokesperson doesn’t know about a man who is determined to marry a woman….You will continue to go to the house and you go and go and go”. Nana Akufo-Addo said amidst thunderous cheers from the mammoth crowd

“So, that is what I am determined to do”, he revealed, explaining: “I am determined to marry the people of the Volta Region and I’m going to come here as often as is necessary until I get them”.

The paramount chief of the Adaklu Traditional Area, Togbe Gbogbi Atsa V, assured President Akufo-Addo of the determination of the chiefs and people to maintain the prevailing peace in the area ahead of the 7 December 2020 general elections.

“We assure Your Excellency that we will continue to keep the peace prevailing in the Adaklu traditional area, especially during this election year and beyond”, Togbe Gbogbi Atsa V promised.
