I pity NADMO officials –Suhuyini

The Member of Parliament for Tamale North Hon Alhaji Alhassan Suhuyini said he felt pity for officials of National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) in the Northern Region.

Victims of the Tuesday Tamale floods that rendered many homeless and destroys properties worth millions of Ghana cedis are yet to get relief items from NADMO.

But the outspoken Tamale North parliamentarian said, the NADMO officials in the region could not support victims of the floods because they are under-resourced, adding that, the nature of the offices of NADMO is worrying.

Hon Suhuyini is also not happy with the delayed of relief items to victims, “I’m disappointed that for three days now victims of the floods are yet to get any relief item from government through NADMO”.

The MP for Tamale North who was speaking to savannanews24.com at the Islamic Adua ceremony of the late Hajia Fati Bapuni said, he will raise the perennial Tamale floods issue in parliament today, “I’m just rushing to parliament to raise the issues of flooding in the metropolis and the region, and I hope the Honorable Speaker of parliament will give me the opportunity”.

Mr. Alhassan Suhuyini whose constituency was heavily hit by the floods hinted that, all the members of parliament in the Tamale Metropolis and Sagnarigu are “putting their heads together” to see how they can support victims of the floods.

Again, they will collaborate with the government to ensure that the perennial flooding in the Tamale metropolis is prevented.

The Tamale North MP said, he has already made an appeal to NGOs and other individuals for support.

Hon Alhaji Alhassan Suhuyini at the funeral grounds urged the bereaved families of the Tamale floods Victims to take heart but pray for the departed souls to rest in perfect peace.
