A 47 year old Tutor of Bagabaga College of Education, Tamale has told the media that he is the most suitable candidate for the position of the Municipal Chief Executive for the Sagnarigu Municipality in an interaction with a cross-section of the media after going through vetting at the Northern Regional Coordinating Council in Tamale.
Mr. Seidu, aka Karimba, expressed satisfaction and confidence in the work of the Vetting Committee chaired by the Hon. Regional Minister Alhaj Shani Alhassan Shaibu saying ” members of the Committee are rich in the knowledge of the NPP and the local governance system of Ghana”
Mr. Seidu who an Assembly Member of the Sagnarigu Municipal Assembly, however, did not give details of what transpired during his vetting but told the media that he has paid his dues in the service of the NPP in his Constituency and the Region and therefore, very positive that he will be recommended for appointment.
He chronicled the enviable achievements of the Nana Addo/Bawumia led NPP Government in the midst of the covid-19 pandemic, saying that with such massive achievement, he is of the strongest conviction that the NPP can ‘break the 8’.
On party service, Hon Karimba has been a polling agent in major elections from 1996 to 2016. From 2010 to date, he has been TESCON Patron for Bagabaga College of Education. Mr Seidu also served as a Polling Station Chairman from 2011 to 2013. He contested and won the post of Assistant Secretary of the Sagnarigu Constituency and has held that position from 2013 to date. He was the official counting agent for H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo at the Sagnarigu Constituency collation center during the 2012 and 2016 Elections.
In the 2020 general elections, Hon. Seidu was a member of the Sagnarigu Constituency Campaign Team,
Shishegu Garizegu Zone campaign Coordinator, Coordinator for New Media, and an IT Coordinator for the Constituency.
The MCE aspirant also touts his knowledge of the development challenges in the Municipality saying ” as an honourable assembly member serving in the Development Planning sub Committee, I am not oblivious of the development challenges we face as a Municipality and it takes someone like me with excellent camaraderie amongs the various demographic groups within the Municipality to surmount them and propel the needed development in a covid/post covid Sagnarigu Municipality”.
