Counter Islamic Programme postponed over reprisal attacks

A planned Islamic program(Dawa) by a controversial mallam in the Tamale metropolis have been halted due to the possible reprisal attack among the Alul-Sunna community sect’s.

The mallam, Abu Tijana after an alleged insult on his biological father who happens to be the principal Chief Imam of the Masjid-Bayan Sunna fellowship by some mallams from the Ambariya Sunna community on a Tamale base local station(Zaa radio) also schedule a counter sermon at a popular bus terminal(Sangbahala station) to strip the founder of the Ambariya Sunna community and their current leadership naked.

The maverick malam Tijana who have been accused in the metropolis for verbally attacking eminent Islamic scholars during the fasting period, yesterday maintain his firm stand to expose the Ambariya Sunna community ignorance, ungodly and wishful culture of interpretating the holy Qur’an to their liking.

But, security operatives and opinion leaders in Tamale hours to the scheduled sermon call for the immediate postponement of the sermon following soaring tensions among supporters of masjid Bayan and the Ambariya Alul- Sunna.


The Northern regional minister, Alhaji Salifu Sa-eed has however call for calm between the two beefing parties and therefore threat to led the arrest of any group of persons who tempers with the peace and stability of the region.

He advised the mallams to set an examplenary life for the young generation to copy, adding that Islam does not condone character assassination, hate and insight violence against one another.

Alhaji Salifu Sa-eed further warn to close down any radio station in the metropolis that continue to entertain wayward Islamic preachers.

There has been an outstanding religious disagreement between the two faction (Masjid Bayan Sunna and Ambariya Sunna) over who control and practice the real Sunna of the holy prophet.
