Chairman Abdul Fatawu Daniel Bugri Naabu, the Northern Regional Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has sorrowfully rendered unqualified apology under intense pressure to the Upper East Regional Minister, Hon Rockson Bukari after dragging his name into public ridicule.
The Northern Regional Chairman in an interview with Accra base radio station (radio xyz) accused the Upper East Regional Minister and the Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection Madam Otiko Afisah Djaba of masterminding the death of Chairman Adam, the Upper East former Chairman.
Lawyers for the Regional Minister on Sunday debunk the claim, and further charge Bugri Naabu to retract and apologize or face legal suit.
In a remorseful letter dated 10/05/2017, signed by the Mr. Naabu and copied to the Minister lawyers which was sighted by Savanna24news stated “I write to sincerely and unreservedly retreat wholly my comments about your client in an interview I granted on Accra- base radio XYZ, I note, most regrettable that those rather unfortunate comments have made since Monday 8th may 2017 gained wide publicity and may have implications for an ongoing trial in the high Court.
Those comments, regrettable though was a slip of tongue and was not intended to denigrate him, Hon Rockson Bukari is my brother and under no circumstance will I seek to tarnish his hard won reputation. Immediately my attention was drawn to the comments, I personally called him and apologized to him and his family unreservedly.
I do not have any facts beyond the known police investigations on the matter, and I am truly sorry to the Minister, his family and all those I have hurt by those comments.”
The former Upper East former Regional Mr. Adam popularly called Chairman Adam was killed on his way back home when unknown individuals pour acid on him last two years.
