Youth2Day Ghana, a local NGO based in Tamale has donated some items to Shekinah Clinic popularly known as Doctor Choggu Hospital.
The items include used cloth, bedspreads, sandals, diapers, and soaps.
The Youth2DayGh in its quest to help the vulnerable in society launch a campaign dubbed “donate to support the poor and destitute”.
Donating the items, the Chief Executive Officer of Youth2Day Ghana, Mr. Amadu Hassan Kapinta, thanked individuals and organizations that supported the campaign, saying that, the enthusiasm to help the poor and destitute in the society was overwhelming.
“First of all, I wish to thank the people of Tamale for heeding to our call in this campaign dubbed donate to support the poor and destitute. To all those who donated may God bless you all,” he said
Mr. Kapinta called on individuals and organizations especially political leaders to support the poor and destitute in society.
He again thanked the workers of the Shekinah clinic for taking care of the poor, destitute, and the mentally ill in the Northern Regions.
Receiving the items on behalf of the clinic, the Executive Director of Shekinah Clinic, Hajia Mariam Alhassan Dokurugu thanked Youth2DayGh for the donation. “We are indeed very grateful for this support and we pray for all those who supported the campaign for the poor and destitute”.
She said the donations will go a long way to ameliorate the suffering of the inmates of the clinic especially the mentally ill and destitute.
