Tamale police arrested a woman for kidnapping a four old girl

A woman (named withheld) in her 40’s have been arrested for allegedly kidnapping a four years old girl.

The four years old by name Fadila Mohammed is yet to be found as her kidnapper is giving conflicting information about her whereabouts to the police.

According to the father of Fadila, Mohammed Daboya, two months ago the woman (alleged kidnapper) came to his house in Lamashegu, a suburb of Tamale and claimed to have been directed to the area in search of her mother whom she had been searching for and had to trace all the way to Yagbon, a farming community in the North Gonja District of the Savannahs Region.

Mr Mohammed Daboya said the woman who spoke very fluent Gonja language came to him at a time when his daughter had also returned from school.

The Kidnapper and little Fadila

Mr Mohammed Daboya said he left the woman and his daughter and entered into a mosque to observe the Asr prayer and upon his return, he never met the woman and his daughter.

He felt the daughter went to the mother in the house only to realise after asking his wife about little Fadila that she never returned from school. The mother also felt she might have been at the father’s shop.

A search party was conducted in Tamale which proved futile with relatives tracing to Yagbon which many people claim they do not know the woman in question.

The Kidnapper

The woman was later seen at Masaka and arrested by relatives of Mohammed Daboya yesterday and brought to Tamale.

The alleged kidnapper was arrested at Masaka a community near Salaga in the East Gonja Municipality of the Savannah Region and handed over to the Tamale Lamashiegu Police and later transferred to the Regional Police Command Office.

The husband of the woman (kidnapper) said the wife brought a little girl to Masaka and said it was her sister’s daughter but he the husband made his wife to send the little girl back to Tamale because she fell sick.

According to the husband of the kidnapper his wife sent the little girl to Tamale and came back to Masaka but was traced and arrested.

Meanwhile, the Northern Regional Police command is currently interrogating the kidnapper on the whereabouts of the girl as she continue to give conflicting information about the girl’s whereabouts.
