The Northern Regional Minister Hon Alhaji Salifu Saeed has called on the people of the region to support the NPP Government to succeed, adding that, government require the cooperation and support of all and sundry to prosecute its agenda of transformational change.
Addressing Muslims at the Tamale Central mosque on the occasion of Eidul-fitr celebration, he said the political season is over, so Ghanaians should disregard politics of interest and exhibit sense of nationalism.
According to him irrespective of one political affiliation the total support to carry out government programmes of ‘One district, One factory”, One Village, One dam” “Planting for food and Jobs,” ‘Free SHS” and sustainable health Insurance and generating employment for the teaming youth should be the cardinal point of every patriotic citizen.
Alhaji Salifu said each individual in the country deserve a better life and the execution of the policies will address the myriad of problems the public faced in the previous administration.
“Development is our goal and political division should not destruct us from the path of development, there is the need for us to unite, we must put aside our differences and seek unity and peace among ourselves.”
He assured that government will provide the needed leadership that will galvanize the resources of the country to achieve a holistic development. “We require your patience and understanding as we stabilize the economy to be able to deliver on our mandate.” Adding that good things take time and efforts to materialize.
He urged the gathering to maintain the level of calm and worship exhibited during the Ramadan period, furthering that violence should be eschew by the citizenry, and work towards a sustainable peace and unity for the betterment of mother Ghana.
He revealed government commitment in building a lasting peace in the region, saying government is rolling out a number of initiatives in the direction of bringing everyone on board for peace to prevail throughout the region.
The regional chief Imam, Sheikh Abdul Salam thanked the Akufo Addo government for the introduction of the Zongo development fund, which according to him will elevate the predicaments of people living in the Zongo communities.
He advised government not to politicise the initiative, but ensure that every individual in the targeted area benefit from the fund.
