Six drug peddlers arrested in Tamale

A team of military and police has stormed the Aboabo and Nobisco forest reserves in the Tamale metropolis and arrested 6 persons in possession of substances suspected to be marijuana.

The Tamale Metropolitan Chief Executive, Hon Iddrisu Musah Superior who led the raid on wee smokers and criminals at the Tamale forest said, the exercise will continue to make the forest reserve safe from hoodlums who use the forest for their nefarious activities.







“It is against the law to smoke marijuana and as a responsible lead officer of the metropolis I have a responsibility to mobilize the rest of the metropolis to defeat this especially when we have the young people engaging in it”. He told the press

The Tamale forest reserves have been use for various nefarious activities, including peddling of drugs such as cocaine, marijuana and other hard substances.  The forest also serves as a hideout for armed robbers and criminals. Children between the ages of 14 and 17 are engaged in these criminal activities but the Tamale Mayor vowed to clampdown their activities to make Tamale safe.

Meanwhile, the Tamale Forest Reserves have been deserted since the invasion of the combine military and police personnel yesterday.
