Salaga North MP calls for due deligence on roads construction

The Member of Parliament for Salaga North constituency in the East Gonja District of the northern region, Alhaji Alhassan Mumuni has admonish road contractors in the country to always do due diligence to the roads they are working on to stand the test of time.

The lawmaker made this remark when he accessed the extent of damage caused by the recent flooding in the East Gonja District on the Bunjai – Kedeng road. Mr. Mumuni said his heart is broken at the level of damage caused on the road cutting the communities totally away from the Bunjai.

” I am sad because the livelihood of the people is taking away because they will not have access to any market and health facility and so there is the need for civil engineers and contractors to always try to do some high level of diligence to their work to avert some of these situations “. He said similar instances happened on the kpalbe – nyishila road and the Daboashie – Buhijya road respectively.

The MP lamented that very soon schools will reopen and teachers will find it difficult to get access to the communities to teach which will affect the children. ” How will this women get to buy their ingredients to cook good and nutritious food for the children to get the nutrients they require to prevent stunting” he added.

Mr. Mumuni presented salt, Maggie, matches onions and other ingredients to be distributed to women in the affected communities.
