Hundreds of flood victims who received relief items yesterday said, they are excited with government intervention.
The victims said, though the relief items delayed however they are happy finally the items came, “we are very happy today and we thanked the government for the relief items”.
Though the relief items cannot quantify their lost, the victims believed that the relief items show government interest on their plight.
“I have been given a mattress, oil, rice, soaps and sugar so I’m happy and I thank God”. A flood victim Issah Sala said
Again, the victims are also excited with government to plans to distill gutters and construct new big gutters to curtail the perennial flooding in the region.
The DCE for Sagnarigu Hon Mariam Iddrisu assures that, all registered victims of the floods will be given the relief items, reiterating that, no victim of the floods will be left out.
She again, called on victims who have not yet register to do so to enable them get relief items from the government.
Hon Mariam revealed that, the Sagnarigu District Assembly after the central government intervention will also provide relief items to victims of the Tuesday floods.
The distribution of the relief items started yesterday in three community in the Sagnairgu District, includes, Kanvili Tuunayili, Gumani and Nyanshegu North. Today, officials of NADMO will go to other affected areas in the district.
