A board member of Real Tamale United (RTU) sporting club Alhaji Adam Munkaila known as Admun has quashed the decision by the board secretary to constituted an advisory council and a five member management committee to steer the affairs of the club.
Board secretary of RTU Mr. Jones Abu Alhassan Abdul Fatawu issued a statement on Sunday announcing a newly constituted five member interim management committee and a four member advisory council that Will run the club for the next two years.
But Mr. Adam Munkaila described the move by Mr. Jones as nonsense and null and void.
Currently RTU has no substantive management team following a mass resignation that hit the club after the first half of the season by then management led by Alhaji Alhassan Alolo.
The former Northern Regional Football Association Chairman reacting to a statement issued by the Mr. Jones Abu Alhassan which was intercepted by North Star news, directed his anger on the Board Secretary of RTU on WhatsApp message
“Jones consider what you have done as null and void. Ok who and who were there when you took that decision nonsense”.
Mr. Jones Abu Alhassan Abdul Fatawu also holds a portfolio at newly acquired lower division side Tamale City FC.
Below is the full statement issued by board secretary of RTU Mr. Jones Abu Alhassan on Sunday:
Pursuant to the discussions held in Accrington last week between some Board members of the club and the Honourable Northern Regional Minister Mr Salifu Saeed at an inquorate emergency board meeting,&subsequent consultations with the leadership of the club’s supporters front,a 5-member Management Committee has been appointed to run the club for a two year term.The Committee is under the Chairmanship of Alhaji Abuba Shaibu,Managing Director of Nasona Oil Company.
Other members of the committee are:
Mr.Muazz Choose, an old player of the club;
Mr Mohammed Asamoah,a football administrator;
Mr Yussif Shaibu,a Trader;&
Mr Issaka Sadique,a representative of the Supporters’Union.
An advisor Council has also been constituted to be an advisory body to the management for purposes of proper linkage between the management and the club’s supporters’ front.It is made up of some of the surviving members of the supporters front who have been associated with the club since its inception in 1976.They are:
3)Mr Mahamadu Buaru;&
4)Alhaji Baba Issahaku (the current Supporters’ Chairman)
These decisions are tentative,taken in view of the time constraints,and are therefore subject to ratification by the full board at a subsequent date.
