The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has begun the second phase of his official working visits to the countries of the ECOWAS territory.
The President Nana Akufo-Addo yesterday left the shores of Ghana to Senegal, and expected to proceed to Guinea and Cape Verde.
In a press release signed by the director of communication at the presidency, Mr. Eugene Arhin said the President will have the opportunity to introduce himself, as the new Ghanaian leader, formally to the governments and peoples of the neighbouring countries.
According to him the commander In-Chief of Ghana Arm Forces will explore and deepen the country bilateral relations with those countries, and reiterate Ghana’s full commitment to the ECOWAS project.
He mentioned the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchway MP, and some officials of the Presidency and Ministry of Foreign Affairs being the accompanied dignitaries.
In his absence, the Vice President, Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia, shall, in accordance with Article 60(8) of the Constitution, act as the president of the republic.
