Our partnership with John Deere will boost agriculture in Ghana – Tata

The  Financial Controller and Head Business of Tata Africa Holding (Ghana) LTD, Mr. Aashish Rastogi has asserted that the company’s partnership with John Deere (JD) will boost the agriculture in the country.

According to him, he is very optimistic of the future prospects of both companies in creating market avenues for the Ghanaian farmers and agribusinesses.

“Our organization is focused on the overall development of agriculture sector. We are confident that Tata- John Deere partnership will cater the market requirement comprehensively and associate with all the relevant Agric program in the country”. He said

He disclosed that, Tata Africa Holding (Ghana) LTD has been operating Ghana for over two decades now, adding that, the company is part of the distribution vertical of Tata International Ltd in India, which primarily deals in the distribution of Tata Vehicles and after-sales support.

Mr. Rastogi said, the company from the 1st of September, 2018 partnered with John Deere in Ghana, one of the most reputed brands in agricultural sector known for its supreme quality to distribute and provide after-sales support of John Deere tractors and various agricultural equipment. The partnership is an extension of an existing partnership with John Deere in other parts of the continent.

Mr. Rastogi speaking at the 8th Annual Pre-Harvest in Tamale stated that their partnership with John Deere is one that is aimed at resolving most agricultural straits in the country and boosting agricultural produce. The annual agri-business and exhibition event organized by the USAID/Advance was under the theme “transforming agribusiness in Northern Ghana: the future starts now”

He added that Tata is promoting mechanization in order to improve yields by enormous folds from the same land. He stated also, that they were upgrading technical and farming skills as well as offering financial support to farmers, so as to improve agricultural practice in the country.

“We believe in offering a comprehensive solution to the market. We call it a ‘SMART campaign’ that offers the one-stop solution for farmers to cater all their agriculture needs. We are promoting mechanization to improve yields by many folds from the same land, upgrading technical and farming skills and offer financing support as well”. He said.

The Head of Business of Tata reiterated their interest in agricultural development in the nation and stated that, as a result they offer all their agricultural products with maintenance packages to ensure that the equipment will run efficiently during its lifespan, which in turn provides a peace of mind to the customer.

“We are offering all our agricultural product with a maintenance package to ensure that equipment will run efficiently during its lifespan. It also provides complete peace of mind to the customer. We are offering flexible financing solution that includes rental service, long-term hire purchase, assured trade-in value and customized financing package”. He added.

He however stated that Tata is ever ready to partner with Agric service providers and farmer associations to consolidate the requirement of small farmers and provide them with economically viable solutions.

He disclosed that they have declared their interest to government to be a partner in their various programs to uplift agriculture in Ghana, stating that they can offer the requisite specifics needed for agricultural uplift in the nation.

“We are ready to collaborate with Agric service providers and farmer associations to consolidate the requirement of small farmers and provide them economically viable solutions.  We have shown our interest to Government to be a partner in their various programs to uplift the agriculture in Ghana. We can offer the right product, financing package, up gradation of skills and robust after sales support”. He said.
