As the Globe Celebrate Mother’s Day today, the National Women Wing of the Governing New Patriotic Party(Npp) has shown gratitude to mother’s across the length and breadth of the country.
According to them it is crucial for mother’s to be celebrated and treated as Queen’s due to the sacrifices, respect commitment, tolerance and love they bestowed on children and families in the country.
In a press release signed by the party Deputy National women organizer, Madam Diana Karikari said it is fitting to appreciate mothers, living and departed, everywhere in the world, adding that a good mother makes her child a star and indeed, a good mother makes a father a hero.
Recognizing few outstanding women in the country they said “The NPP women’s wing humbly wish the first Lady Her Excellency, Mrs Rebecca Akufo Addo, the Second First Lady Samira Bawumia, the former First Lady Mrs Theresa Kuffour, the former Second Lady Mrs Hajia Mahama, outgoing Chief Justice Georgina Theodora wood and the incoming Chief Justice Ms Justice Sophia Akuffo, we congratulate her on her new appointment.”
“On this memorable Mother’s Day, we salute all mothers for making the world a place of comfort and love; we also salute all single mothers who have played the role of both mother a d father in the lives of children whose love has really stood the test of time to provide their children with the very best in life and to mothers who are not biological mothers but have played tremendous roles in shaping the lives of young ones in the society, a sacrifice that deserves appreciation.”
According to them Mothers have demonstrated warmth, compassion, affection and developed a strong bond that can never be compared, from picking Shea nuts and firewood at ungodly hours, fetching water, farming, clearing sores, selling their last cloth to feed their children and educating them to the various positions across the land.
They further urged Ghanaians to say ‘ayeekoo’ to mothers because they are the heartbeat of the home.
Other eminent personalities including the first lady of the republic, Madam Rebecca Akuffo Addo has congratulated women in and around the globe for being the brain behind every success.
