The New Patriotic Party (NPP) 2016 parliamentary candidate for the Tamale South Constituency, Mr. Yussif Yakubu has visited registration centers in the constituency to observe how the limited registration is ongoing.
On his visit he had an interaction with the returning officer who assured him that everything was going on successful and there is enough materials except that they are doing it offline.
Mr Yussif on his part said the offline registration will make it difficult to detect double registration as well as waste of materials.
He was also overwhelmed with the cordial relationship that was existing between the two big political parties thus the ruling and NPP and the opposition NDC.
Mr Yussif said “What I have observed in my visit here is that, if you look at the participation of the political parties especially the opposition NDC and the ruling NPP party here, the environment is so nice and conducive…. you see them interacting and playing at each other giving an indication that democracy in Ghana and for that matter Tamale metro and Tamale south is deeply rooted “
He saw that there was no enough sheds for registrants and said he was going to liaise with the Tamale south NPP chairman, the District Chief Executive as well as other authorities of concern to provide a temporal sheds for registrants to protect them from the sun and rain.
Mr Yussif ended his interaction with the media by giving thanks to Allah, the people of Tamale south, the people of Tamale metro and the officials of electoral commission for a peaceful nature of the ongoing exercise and urged everyone to maintain that till the end of the programme.
