The Northern Regional Police command has confirmed yet another death in the Bunkpurugu violence that triggered. The number of death toll is now 3, according the Northern Regional Police PRO, ASP Ebenezer Tetteh.


ASP Ebenezer Tetteh told the press that the police and the military are on top of issues, reiterating that, the police are investigating what triggered this current violence in the Bunkpurugu District. Two AK 47 assault rifles have been retrieved by the police during the clashes.

It is not clear what causes this latest violence and no arrest has been made yet.

Unconfirmed reports indicates that several people received various degrees of injuries.


Schools has been closed and hundreds of people have since fled the area including, teachers and public workers.
