Pluz Consult, an event company has launch an award scheme dubbed “Northern Music Video Awards” to recognize hard working musicians and music video directors in the Northern Region.
The maiden edition of the Northern Music Video Awards (NMVAs) has thirteen (13) award categories including, Overall Music Video of the year, Best Male Music Video, Best Female Music Video, Best Hip Life Video, Best Hip Hop Video, Best Highlife Video, Best Reggae/Dancehall, Best Traditional Video, Best Development Music Video, Best Group Music Video, Best Music Video Director, Best Music Video Mixer/DJ and Discovery Music Video.
Speaking at the launch, the CEO of Pluz Consult. Mr. Inusah Abdul Rahim said, the award scheme is put together to recognize and appreciate deserving personalities and institutions in the music industry, noting that, the visual sector of the music industry has been forgotten thus the need to recognize and motivate musicians and video directors to produce quality videos to improve the music art industry in the region.
“The huge sums of monies, creative mind and time is spent by these people for putting smiles on our faces driving away egos that could plant carious, serving also as a source of employment which we all know. On the account of the immense contribution that musicians and producers provide, especially to the general public- individuals, Business, religious groups, government and its agencies, it is proper, holistically for them to be recognized and honoured by the good people they serve”. He said
Mr. Abdul Rahim added that, the Northern Music Video Awards (NMVAs), which is conceived this year, will help recognize talented Musicians living in the three regions of the north but for the maiden edition will focus only in the northern region.
The board chairman of the NMVAs, Mr. Issah Abdul Malik said, the awards is aimed at promoting the music industry in the region, especially music video production.
Mr. Abdul Malik who is also a pioneer in Northern music lamented that, the music industry in the region cannot grow if music artistes continue to produced substandard videos to the market, adding that, the NMVAs will undoubtedly encourage music artistes, producers, managers and Video directors to produce high quality music videos that will be marketable to the world.
Mr. Abdul Malik advised music artistes and managers to consider all the necessary ingredients that makes up a quality music video to compete with the world.
The PRO of Pluz Consult, Mr. Abdul Rauf Murphy explained that, the year under review is 1st of January to 1st of December 2018, adding that, the academic board will choose videos the met the criteria for nomination.
He said, the voting pattern which is hundred percent (100%) will have 60% percent public voting whiles the 40% will be decided by the academic board. “Voting will be done through short codes provided for every category”. He hinted that
Mr. Murphy said, nomination forms will strictly be online through the award website www.nmvda.com, “and all materials needed should be uploader there”.
