The late Vice President of the Republic Of Ghana, H.E Alhaji Aliu Mahama’s son Farouk Aliu Mahama has called on the Muslim community to initiate funds to support communities out of poverty, saying that, the act of giving to charity among Muslims is lacking.
However, its behoove on us as Muslims to come together to set up funds can help people in need, “we have to challenge and encourage ourselves in helping people in need” he added
Mr. Farouk speaking on Hamza Lansah Lolly’s Adiini Saha program on ATV said the spirit of giving charity is lacking among Muslims unlike Christians who have been instill with the spirit of giving to charity and the way of God.
He said, the churches uses the tides to support each other and to development their communities, “So we as Muslims have to adopt this things to support our communities”.
The late Vice President Aliu’s son who will be donating to the Tamale Orphanage as part of his birthday celebrations noted that, his father the late Vice President of Ghana was a giver and has touch many lives through his philanthropic works across the country. “I want to continue where my late father stop” He added
Mr. Farouk Aliu Mahama who is a Board member of the Aliu Mahama Foundation and in charge of operations will turn 35 years on Wednesday 27th April 2016.
He said as part of the birthday celebrations he will on 26th of April engage the media and the general public by granting an interview with North Star Radio and on his birthday which falls the following day there will be a Quran recitation in appreciation of God’s mercy and blessings for his life, that of his father the late Vice President Aliu Mahama, his grandmothers and all departed souls by the grandmother’s graveside at Vittin Estates in Tamale.
Mr. Farouk added that, he will make a donation to the Nyohani Children’s Home and later on donate some boxes of the Holy Quran and cash to the Hajia Alolo Islamic Institute in Tamale.
The young philanthropist will climax his birthday celebrations with a party at the Mafara Hotel with friends.
Meanwhile, some musicians including Don Sigli, Lil K, Kawastone, Shingy, Deensi, Capasco, Flower Gaskia, Arisky Gaffachi and others will be in attendance.
“So I’m inviting all my friends and love ones to come help me thank Allah for my life and that of my family, everybody is invited” He said
A lecturer at the University of Applied Management and a Muslim Scholar, Alhaji Mohamed Marzuq Abubakar also a panel on the program lauded the initiative of the late Vice President son and reiterated the importance of giving to people in need.
He said, one of the attributes of the Alhaji Aliu Mahama was giving generously to people.
Alhaji Marzuq said, the Holy Quran have made it clear in several verses of the Quran that urges people to give to charity no matter the gravity of the gift. The Muslim Scholar citing some verses of the Quran said, there is so much blessings in giving to charity.
