The Ghana Immigration Service in the Northern Region has won this year’s AU soccer gala organized by the Lands Commission.
The Immigration Service beat the Ghana Fires Service to become first in the tournament after they beat the Lands Commission 2 to 1 to the finals.
The gala marches which took place at the Tamale sports stadium were between the media eleven (11), Ghana Fire Service, Immigration Service and the Lands Commission.
The media eleven (11) lost 2-1 in their first game against the Fire Service but manage to beat the Lands Commission 4-2 on penalties for the third position.
Speaking to the media, the Northern Regional Director of the Land Commission Mr. Yaw Aboagye-Kyei said, the tournament was to exercise and socialize with other agencies in the region to mark this year’s African Unity day, adding that, the tournament was very successfully.
The Land Commission boss said, the commission will continue to partner with other agencies to organize such exercises in the future especially on public holidays.
He therefore thanked all the participating teams for accepting to be part of the tournament.
