The Northern Regional Minister, Alhaji Salifu Sa-eed has led the confirmation of the Gushegu District Chief Executive nominee after Chairman Bugri Naabu claim of possible chaos in the area should the electoral commission conduct the confirmation process.
The nomination of Mr Musah Issah, a teacher by profession came to light when the first nominee Mr Yakubu Abdullai failed to garner two third of votes from assembly members and government appointees.
The regional minister upon several consultation with the security operatives in the region discredited Chairman Bugri Naabu assertion, went ahead and complied to the president directives to immediately confirm the nominee after his nomination on Friday.
Mr Musah was yesterday confirmed under a conducive atmosphere by a reasonable votes of 28 out of the expected 36 total votes.
The regional Chairman in a press conference a day before the confirmation process claimed that Konkomba youth in the area have planned to attack some identify individuals and the facility where the confirmation will be held per the intelligence his outfit had gathered, adding that Bunkprugu and West Mamprusi district will not be exempted from same chaos.
He said the Konkomba extract in those districts have been deceive by the Akufo Addo government, stating further that “Konkombas are threatening to attack our party facilities and destroy them because they think and feel deceive and cheated, because it was an agreement among them and the vice president and president that if they should vote for the Mp to win, the Konkombas are for the DCE position, know they are realizing that they are been deceive, just for them to have Konkomba as DCE, they are been denied again, so there is tension in that level.”
Chairman Bugri Naabu however suggested that for peace and stability to rain unabated in those districts authorities should hold on the nominees confirmation for onward consultation at the presidency.
The District Chief Executive, Hon Musah after his confirmation pledge his commitment to bury tribal politics in the area, and ensure that occupants of the district advocate for quality living condition and development.
To him his priority is to facilitate the implementation of the One district, One factory, One Village, One Dam, Planting for food and jobs and other policies and interventions.
