The whole discussion is to see how best the industry association can also support in the fight against COVID-19 at the local level”.

“We are aware that some processing is going on by observing social distancing protocols but we also think that women need to be supported especially the case that we have cosmetic base products that are coming from shea that can also be used as sanitizers and other disease-fighting protocols”. He added

Mr. Iddi said, the Shea Network Ghana is happy with the partnership with Global She Alliance in getting the items to support the women groups. “The good thing is that many of the donations are coming from women or businesses in the shea sector and we would like to also call on other people to bring in more soap or sanitizers especially alcohol base so that we can distribute them at the local level”.

The National Coordinator for Shea Network Ghana on behalf of the women in Shea especially the beneficial groups thanked the sponsors of the items. “We are aware that averagely, the materials are reaching out to about 1000 women and above because each woman is supposed to get about 1unit soap and what we have is about that number and we believe that if we are able to expand to reach other women categories”.

“Please don’t really look at it and judge it by the quantity but look at it and judge it by the heart that has driven such a gesture. We know these things would not be anything bigger, I will call it it’s just a drop in a tea cup buy the most important thing is that, as an organisation we have taken it up as a duty to express our love and concern to our women who are really the shakers and movers of the industry”. He urged

Mr. Asante again encourages the women to fight the CBID -19 pandemic by observing and obeying protocols, saying “please let’s do our best to observe the fundamental procedures in keeping our home, our communities and our country safe and healthy. We need you after COVID-19 and therefore everything should be put in place to protect you during these even difficult times. We know we would come out of it but before anything really happens we want to assure you we would be there for you 24 by 7. So once again thanks for coming and let’s put these things to use to ensure that COVID-19 is defeated for good”.
