Exhibit the culture of patriotism –Tamale Mayor urged

The Metropolitan Chief Executive for Tamale Metropolitan Assembly, Hon Iddrisu Musah has urged members of the Assembly to exhibit the culture of patriotism to bring development to the metropolis.

He said, as members of the assembly who represent the aspirations of the various electoral areas, there is the need to always infuse patriotism in all works of the assembly.

Speaking at the maiden 2017 Assembly Town Hall meeting in Tamale, Wednesday, Mr. Musah entreated both staff and members of the assembly to thread on the path of co-existence and peace, “ in order that we continue to enjoy the tranquility in this Metropolis and beyond”.

The maiden 2017 Town Hall meeting of the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly has been organize to provide a platform for government to account to the people about its stewardship and also allow for citizens to demand answers on issues that are bothering their minds.

The Town Hall meeting it’s an initiative from the Ministry of Information to be held on all the 216 Metropolitan/Municipal/Districts Assemblies (MMDAs).

The Tamale Mayor said, “I think that it is very imperative for us as duty bearers to make our people abreast of current development within the country and in our localities in particular. Therefore, I see the initiative of the Town Hall meeting by the Ministry of Information as an opportunity to bring to the people, up to date progress of governance in the Country”.

Mr. Iddrisu Musah Superior said, the forum will again enable the people of the metropolis to know the national policy programmes that have been initiated by the government, under the excellent leadership of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akofu-Addo.

He noted that, government recognizes that all citizens irrespective of their locality tohave the right to know about the progress being made so far by the government in fulfilling the promises that were made to them.

“It is against this backdrop that, the Ministry of Information seeks to institutionalize this forum in all the MMDAs in the country in order that the people are well informed as well as create an opportunity for interface in order to deepen transparency and accountability”. He stated
