On the Saturday the 11th of October, 2020 final year students of Development Management (DM)presented trees and flowers to teachers and pupils of Nahada Islamic school as part of their final year project work.
The trees were planted in support of the campaign against climate change and also to protect the school boundaries from encroachment.
“Teachers and pupils were charged to take good care of the trees and the flowers since it is their own and they shouldn’t say it is for the school” says Miss Ire.
Master Azuure added that “We shall be visiting from time to time to see how the plants are growing and also help in taking care of it to ensure that our efforts does not go down the drain”.
Tisongtaba support group are students of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology offfering MSC Development Management.
As part of their academic requirement for a post graduate degree, Development Management (DM) student are expected to embark on a Social Entrepreneurial and Philanthropic project in their various communities.
Tisongtaba Support group led by Miss Atchulo and whose members included Miss Sulemana, Mr. Azuure, Mr. Diedong, Miss Ire, M.r Dodoo, Mr. Alhassan, Mr. Benjamin, Mr. Yirilabuo, Mr. Abdulai, and Mr. Denakpor embarked on a vegetable sack farming project(lettuce and carrots) for Shekinah clinic to support the nutritional value of the mental health patients, destitute and volunteers of the clinic.
The manageress of the Shekinah clinic Hajia Mariam on behalf of the staff of the clinic thanked Tisongtaba support group for their kind gesture to the clinic and has also called on other groups and associations in the metropolis to emulate the good works of the group.
The proprietor, headmistress and staff of Nahadah Islamic JSS and Primary school expressed their profound gratitude to Tisongtaba group of Knust and promised to take good care of the trees, and flowers given to them.
They also wished Tisongtaba support group well in their academic endeavors as well as hoping to get more support from them.
