The Deputy CEO of MASLOC, Hajia Abibata Shani Mahama Zakaria has been caught in massive school feeding fraud in the Eastern Corridor Districts of the Northern Region.
She has issued fifty six (56) school feeding appointment letters, which has been found to be fake to NPP party delegates especially polling station women organisers in the Yendi Municipality.
The fifty six (56) polling stations women of the NPP also includes those from Tatale/Sanguli,, Zabzugu, Gushiegu, Kpandai, Nanumba North, Mion and Saboba districts of the Northern Region.
The over ambitious Deputy MASLOC CEO, who is also vying for the Yendi Parliamentary Candidate of NPP is engaged in so many dubious activities in an attempt to gain political advantage over her opponents.
The issue has brought a lot of tension and disaffection among party faithful and victims of this grand scheme by Hajia Abibata. Confirmed reports have it that, the holders of this alleged fake school feeding appointment letters were chased away by the DCEs of Zabzugu, Tatale/Sanguli, Gushiegu, Kpandai, Nanumba North, Mion and Saboba when they found that the appointment letters were fake.
The appointment letters contained the following irregularities or discrepancies: no date, no reference number and scanned signatureof the former Gender and Social Protection Minister, Madam Otiko Djaba. Another interesting thing is that, the newly appointed caterers are supposed to start work as per the letter given to them by Hajia Abibata in the 2017/2018 academic year instead of 2018/2019.
Our investigations has revealed that, the Deputy CEO of MASLOC, Hajia Abibata is gaining notoriety for issuing such fake appointment letters to unsuspecting residents of Yendi Municipality which is causing a lot of embarrassment to the party and ruling government.
Quite recently, she was accused of given fake forestry appointment letters to a number of people in the Yendi Municipality.
Again, six individuals were earlier given school feeding appointment letters to work as caterers by Hajia Abibata and they have been feeding the school children for the past three months without reimbursement from the school feeding secretariat since those individuals were not duly appointed.
The embarrassment, anger, disappointment and frustration among NPP faithfuls who are at the receiving end of Hajia Abiabata’s antics can’t just be imagined.
It’s clear that the desperate move by Hajia Abibata to win the parliamentary primaries of the NPP is causing the party serious problems in the area. She has no regard for the bad image her actions continue to cause this government.
The school feeding secretariat has since issued a statement to deny issuing fifty six (56) appointment letters to these caterers.
In a letter dated on 15th November 2018, signed by the Dr. Kwame Adu Nsiah, the National Coordinator of the Ghana School Feeding Programme and addressed to all MMDCEs in the Northern Region stated that, the GSFP has not appointed the 56 women to cook in the Northern Region. “We would therefore be grateful if your Assembly could ensure that persons purporting to be appointed by GSFP do not provide catering services to any of the schools in the Northern Region without prior notification from GSFP. The GSFP will not be responsible for paying them”. The disclaimer letter stated
Meanwhile, some of the affected women in an interview express their disappointments on the turn of events and wonder why the Deputy MASLOC CEO will issue fake appointment letters to them.
According to them, they were chased out by some of the district chief executives in the areas they were posted to.
“They said our letters are fake when we took our appointment letter to the Tatele/Sanguli Assembly”. Madam Ayishetu Habib hinted
