The Northern Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Daniel Bugri Naabu popularly known as chairman bulldozer has suspended two women organisers from the party following their involvement in a meeting held last Friday with the Gender Minister, Madam Otiko Afisah Djaba.
According to the Regional Chairman, the Deputy Region Women Organizer, Hajia Safia and the Tamale Central Women Organiser, Madam Suraya did not followed the party structures, and facilitated a crunch meeting between the women wing of the party and the gender minister over the weekends.
Meanwhile, the suspended women organisers and the entire Constituency Women Organisers of the party in the Northern Region have cautioned Mr. Bugri Naabu, to stop peddling lies against the Gender Minister.
In a press release signed by the Deputy National Women Organizer, Madam Dina Karikari and the suspended Women Organisers said, the Gender Minister was in the region to represent the first Lady Mrs. Rebecca Akuffo Addo on the celebration of International Midwives day, “being the national women organizer of NPP Madam Otiko Afisah Djaba decided to meet her women organisers”.
According to them, the meeting was only for the minister to thank women organisers of the party for working very hard to achieve a resounding victory and moreover to assure them of her commitment to see to the welfare of the women wing of the party.
“We want to clear the air on the purported lies in the news by the regional chairman that the minister came to introduce school feeding coordinators to us.” The statement said
“We are solidly behind our Gender Minister and therefore we will not agree with any individual who will undermine and disrespect her.”
The governing New Patriotic Party constituency Women Organisers further urged the public most especially the elephant fraternity to disregard the Mr. Naabu’s claim, and rather support the Akufo Addo government succeeds.
While, the National Council of the party today have summoned Hon Otiko Djaba and maverick NPP Northern Regional Chairman, Mr. Daniel Bugri Naabu.
