Some angry youth of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Walewale district have destroyed party office over the appointment of a new DCE in the area.
Mr SaakaSayuti failed to get confirmation from members of the assembly thus the President, Nana Addo re-appointed Mr Abu Mohammed as the DCE pending confirmation from the assembly members.
The NPP youth accused members of the assembly of discriminating against residence of Walewale who are appointed for political positions in the constituency, reiterating that, the decision of the President to re-appointed is emanated from the failure of the Assembly members to confirmed Mr Saaka Sayuti.
They therefore vow to resist the new appointment of the President from taking office.
As at 10pm on Friday, the youth in a violence protest against the nomination Mr Abu Mohammed vandalized the constituency office and Bawumia youth for change office.
Items such as air conditioners, office chairs and documents where all destroyed including sign post.
They’re also alleging that the new nominee is a new face who didn’t sacrifice in any way for the party and therefore cannot be accepted in the district.
They further proceeded to Eagle FM a local radio station in Walewale, calling on party members from all the zones of the constituency and people who have the district at heart to meet this morning at the house of their former chairman Alhaji Sanda for a final decision with the elders.
