MMT Deputy Director paid courtesy call on Mamprugu Overlord

The Deputy Managing Director of the Metro Mass Transit (MMT) Limited Mr. Mohammed Sampa has paid a courtesy call on the Overlord of the Mamprugu Traditional Area,  Nayiri Naa Bohigu Abdulai Mahami Sheriga to formally informed him (Nayiri) of his new appointment by the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. 

Mr. Mohammed Sampa on June was appointed as Deputy Director of the Metro Mass Transit Limited in-charge of Finance and Administration by His Excellency the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

He was subsequently sworn into office with other appointees of the company.


The visit of Mr. Sampa to the Nayiri palace in Nalerigu was also to sought the blessings of the Mamprugu Overlord.

The Deputy Metro Mass MD who is a native of the area also visited other prominent people in the area, including the Chief Imam of Mamprugu in Gambaga, Opinion leaders, NPP Executives and some youth groups.

Mr. Sampa interacting with the people in the area,  indicated that, his appointment to the MMT shows the level of confidence the President and appointment committee posed on him and therefore called on them to support him to succeed.

According to him,  his appointment is for the entire Mamprugu area, “so I need your advised and prayers to succeed”.  He said

Mr. Sampa called on the youth in the area to be calm as government take steps to create permanent employment opportunities for them, reiterating that, all the flagship programmes under the NPP Nana Addo led government will kick start this September.

He therefore entreated the youth in the area to take advantage of the numerous opportunities been created by the government.

Mr. Sampa hinted that,  the transport sector alone will be recruiting thousands of Ghanaian youth.

The youth in the area thanked Mr. Mohammed Sampa and urge him to continue his good relationship with them.
