The National Petroleum Authority has been engaging with the media on the Northern Region on the National Petroleum Safety campaign.
The media interactions were to engage the media to use the platforms to educate the general public on Petroleum safety tips and how prevent fire explosions.
The NPA have already engaged the media in Takoradi, Kumasi and Accra.
Again, NPA have met with all the stakeholders Petroleum industry including, CEOs, Tanka drivers and owners.
The Chief Executive Officer of NPA, Mr. Alhassan Tampoli said, the National Petroleum safety campaign can only be successful with the help of the media.
He said, the media interfaces with organizations and the general public, “by way of your ink, your airtime on radio and television”
Mr. Tampoli said, the NPA will partner with the media to take the national campaign to a whole new level so that the campaign message will send to the Ghanaian people.
He said the media engagement is also to the media the opportunity to receive about the works of the NPA and its intentions, adding that, “we are here to share with you some information with regards some fire explosions which have happen in the past if we were well educated wouldn’t have happen”.
The NPA CEO said, a lot of the fire explosions that occur was partly due to lack education about petroleum products and urged the media to use their mediums to educate the Ghanaian public on the usage of petroleum products.
