The Accra regional police command have entreated the public to remain calm and support the police efforts to arrest the suspected arm robbers who raided Lapaz, and succeeded killing a police officer.

The police say, operations are underway to get the perpetrators arrested, thus that the public should voluntary help them with useful information to effect the process.

In a press release signed by the public relations officer, Asp Effia Tenge, and copied to Savanna24news confirmed the shooting of two police officers at Lapaz stating that “The police personnel on their routine motorbike patrols within Lapaz were shot by two unidentified men on unregistered motorbike who are currently on the run.”

According to her the suspects realizing danger abandoned their motorbike, snatched an registered Ash Hyundai Elantra saloon vehicle and speed off to Mallam junction.

“Unfortunately, one of the police personnel passed on while receiving treatment at the police hospital but the second is in a stable condition.”

She assured that the police will subsequently update the general public on the matter.

The Inspector General of police has however announced ten thousand Ghana(10.000) cedis bounty to persons who will furnish the police with information.

The two police officers were shot in the full glare of the public.
